  Charming little place on the river. Had to visit once for their French toast and tea. Not many tables, so have patience or a back-up plan.  Friendly service, fresh food, and I look forward to coming back.

  It has already been a year since we visited Patty's.  But I cannot impress on you how much we enjoyed our visit.  I regret being so tardy in writing this review.  But good memories linger.  And I *do* keep notes.
  
  First was the venue.  We were seated by a big window overlooking what looked like a water filled ditch, called the Necanicum River.  It was bustling with tourists outside, the fishermen were at work in their small boats, the seagulls were hanging nearby hoping for a handout, and a grey crane equally interested in any "fish of the day" tidbits.  Inside, the cafe was adorned with quaint nostalgia, wicker furniture, baskets, and shabby chic antiques.  The smells were intoxicatingly good.
  
  What a memorable meal she can dish up in her tiny kitchen! A well cooked sausage & spinach omelet, fruit, and gluten free toast were Mr. B's.  The side of ham and sauteed veggie medley were mine.  Her spicy mango and tomato salsa was superb.  The coffee was locally roasted and very good.
  
  While I kept adequate notes on what we ate, it was the personal touch that I will remember as if it were yesterday.  Patty made a point of coming out from her work space and visited with each of her guests.  We found her to be very hospitable and welcoming.  
  
  The last thing I remember as we were about to leave, was noticing the smell of cinnamon and Mexican vanilla coming from the kitchen.  Surprised, I glanced over to see her preparing her famous French toast.   I know that exotic smell well and have a history of using it in special dishes.  I smiled and commented, and she and I ended up the chatting over the virtues of using only the best.  If only I had known.

  The food was great, but the waitress was terrible the day we went.  She was turning customers away because it's a very small buisness with maybe 8 tables.  Customers were asking if they should circle back by and she said no.  She seemed overwhelmed by herself on a busy week day morning during summer season.  Perhaps hire more help during peak season?  We would probably come here again.

  We woke up at 6am, took a walk on the beach, and realized that this "resort town" doesn't really plan on EARLY early risers. We were actually walking to another breakfast place and spotted Patty's along the way but kept going. Our destination wasn't even open yet (lucky for us!) so we walked back to Patty's.
  
  You know it's a good place when there's a table of retired locals shooting the breeze at 7am :)
  
  She's awesome, everything is scratch made in-house, and while we were enjoying our breakfast, we were looking at the menu to see what we're going to order tomorrow!
  
  LOVED  the waffle. It was good enough to eat plain but I did try a few pieces with their marionberry syrup. Tasted like my mother-in-law's marionberry jam, in liquid form. And that's 2 scrambled eggs. Looked more like 4 to us. Hubby had corned beef hash. Some of the best we've tasted! Be warned that she'll want you to tasted the food before you garb it up with ketchup - ha!
